Helmet Standards

RASDEG will start to ask riders to check their helmets in 2017.
So if you’re going to invest in a new helmet, ensure its standard rating is appropriate.
We will be asking people over the coming year to check their helmets at events.

Bridle Numbers

Bridle numbers are now required at ALL RASDEG events. Full details available in the May newsletter.

Championship & Awards Criteria

Year End Awards

There are a number of Awards and Championships to be awarded to RASDEG Members, please note the following guidelines.

General Criteria:

  • you must be a Member of RASDEG
  • eligible tests are tests in the Members classes only
  • horse and rider combinations must have ridden a minimum of four tests in the Members class, at a level, to qualify
  • you must have completed your Gold Club volunteer day. The last eligible Gold Club day is the Members Championships
  • the last eligible competition day to have points or placings counted towards the awards or championships is the Members Championships, scheduled for 27 October 2019
  • if you receive an award you must confirm you would like to receive it, you may either be presented with the award at the end of year celebration or arrange collect your award from the club or a committee member, the Committee will not be posting awards
  • if a Member qualifies for a performance award at different levels (e.g. Prelim and Novice) they will be awarded for both levels, it must be on the one horse. A member may not receive two performance awards for one level (e.g. Gold and Silver for Prelim).
  • if a Member rides multiple horses, and the horse and rider combination qualifies for awards, then a Member may receive multiple awards

Specifics:

  • Performance Awards are based on the top 4 test results for that grade (not an average of all results), an average of more than 63% is gold and 58%~63% is silver
  • Championships are based on placings. All placings in Member’s classes throughout the year receive a score (1st 10 points to 10th 1 point), the person with the highest number of points for a grade or category is the Champion.

Champion and Reserve Preperatory
Champion and Reserve Preliminary
Champion and Reserve Novice
Champion and Reserve Elementary

For the following age groups:
Champion Master (55+)
Champion Adult (21-55)
Champion Junior (Up to 21)

Performance Awards

Silver: 58% to <63%
Gold: >=63%
