The grounds looked fabulous, with still a little spring in the grass surface. It was a small day, with 1 ring only running. This set the atmosphere for a casual, friendly day with both riders and non riders gathering to watch tests, offer encouragement and enjoy a chat.
Without exception, everybody was punctual to do their allocated jobs which made the day run very smoothly. Unprompted, a number of riders also asked if there was any other job they could do throughout the day. It’s this spirit of us all pulling together and supporting each other that makes these competitions so enjoyable. Thank you riders!
Of course, there are always a number of non riders who are the backbone of making these days happen, both in planning the event and on the day. No event could happen without them!
The Prix Caprilli was a highlight entertainment of the day. There were 4 entries, but only 2 riders actually doing the test. Well done Kelly and Liz! Kelly’s horse, Beatrice certainly entertained everybody with the amount of ‘air’ she had over the jumps!
We would like to thank all our wonderful judge for giving her time to judge all the lovely horses: Caroline Hager.
